This monitor is suggested if you’re in need of a new Mirror Monitor or if you don’t want a dash mounted monitor. The RVM42 is a mirror like reflective surface when not in reverse, to be used like your normal mirror. Engaging reverse brings up the rear camera.

I’m disappointed with it. The monitor and mirror together are a bit confusing at a quick glance, and to get a good look at the monitor takes your eyes off the road too long. CM50 lcd in our previous tow vehicle was far better.

    • Hi Eric, yes this is an unfortunate side effect on all mirror monitors. Because it is trying to double as a mirror, it has reflective properties built in which means on bright sunny days it can be hard to see the image. If it wasn’t doubling as some type of mirror as well, then it wouldn’t be a problem, this is why your CM50 screen was much easier to see in sunlight.
